This sunny coastal garden had all the right elements for a seaside retreat but was lacking structure. Our client wanted to salvage as many materials and plants as possible, even some old chimney pots that had come off the roof were to be incorporated in the design. The garden was divided into 3 areas for entertaining, relaxing and enjoying the evening sun. The existing raised deck was replaced with light grey porcelain paving to complement the clients existing furniture and house. Steps lead you down to a relaxing area wrapped in planting to create a private space for decompressing. A bespoke stone water feature nestled in the flowerbed adds to the calming ambience. The existing gravel was recycled back in to the garden and topped up to create a winding path defined with planting, pebbles and stones. Seaside salvage collected over the years decorates the beds. A new storage shed, screened with planting, hides a secret garden at the end with a fire-pit area for making the most of the evening sun. The well established palm now takes pride of place in it’s new setting. This garden was featured in Modern Gardens Magazine, May 2024 Edition.
