This sunny coastal garden had all the ingredients of a seaside retreat but lacked structure. The client wished to reuse as many existing materials and plants as possible, including salvaged chimney pots incorporated into the design.
The garden was reimagined into three distinct zones for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying the evening sun. The raised deck was replaced with light grey porcelain paving to complement the house and existing furniture, with steps leading down to a more secluded seating area surrounded by planting. A bespoke stone water feature set within the borders enhances the sense of calm.
Existing gravel was recycled and topped up to form a winding path, defined by planting, pebbles, and stones, with collected seaside finds adding character throughout the beds. A new, planting-screened storage shed conceals a hidden garden beyond, complete with a fire-pit area for evening use. A mature palm now takes centre stage in its new setting.
