Our Vision: To be the Design and Landscape Company of Choice

The company was founded in 1994 by Sean Butler as a bespoke garden design and landscaping business. Driven by a lifelong passion for the outdoors and supported by his background in civil engineering, Sean brought a deep understanding of construction to every project

Becoming a Member of the Society of Garden Designers gave Sean national recognition for his design abilities. He later served as Vice Chairman of the Society, sitting on the board for three years. His extensive experience is recognised across the industry, with a regular Educate column in Pro Landscaper and published articles in Homes & Gardens, 25 Beautiful Homes, The Sunday Times supplement, the Daily Express, Contemporary Garden Magazine, and Modern Garden Magazine

Cube 1994 Ltd has worked on a wide range of residential and commercial projects; from urban contemporary spaces to formal traditional gardens. The company has also collaborated with other designers to build award-winning gardens at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show and RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival

Looking to the future, Cube’s focus is on staff training and development, including the involvement of Sean’s sons, Myles and Izaak, who both hold senior management positions. Having worked alongside Sean from a young age, they have honed their skills and now oversee day-to-day project operations, while also providing hands-on training and support to the landscaping teams. The next generation brings fresh ideas and innovation, ensuring the continued growth and evolution of the company

MEET THE TEAM

Sean Butler
Managing Director and Lead Designer
Sean has specialised in the field of Landscape Garden Design for over 30 years. With a background in civil engineering Sean has an in-depth understanding of the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built landscape. Sean is a registered Member of the Society of Garden and Landscape
Designers (MSGLD), a professional status limited to just 200 garden designers in the country, assessed and approved by the SGLD. Sean has collaborated with other designers to build award winning show gardens at The Chelsea Flower Show in 2022, 2021, 2016, 2015, 2013 and 2012 and Hampton Court Flower Show in 2014. Sean’s work has earned him a prestigious reputation in the garden design industry and has had much media attention.
Myles Butler Project Manager Cube 1994

Project Manager
Myles began his career in garden design, working alongside Sean as an assistant designer and landscaper. He then went on to create his own successful company before returning to the family business. With over 10 years business experience, Myles is now honing his skills, working towards completing a Garden Design Diploma and taking on the role of Project Manager. Myles schedules and oversees all project operations, managing purchasing, plant-hire, logistics and project time lines. Myles works with Izaak to provide on the job training and support to the teams, to ensure all projects are completed to the highest specifications.

Landscape Manager
Izaak began his career in landscaping at a young age, working alongside Sean as an assistant landscaper in between studies. He went on to study Economics at University before returning to the family business and working his way up to Landscape Manager. Izaak oversees all project operations onsite, organising the landscaping teams, managing health and safety and ensuring deliverables in the project have been completed and there are no outstanding issues/activities. Izaak works with Myles to provide on the job training and support to the teams, to ensure all projects are completed to the highest specifications.

Executive Assistant
Anastasia has a background in Marketing and a passion for design. She provides the Managing Director with marketing, administrative and project support, additionally handling operations and acting as the MD's first point of contact with people from both inside and outside the organisation. A longstanding employee, over a decade, Anastasia has aided the development of the business, overseeing operational changes and fine-tuning these processes to improve the day to day running of the business.

Lead Garden Designer
Marta joined us as an experienced residential garden designer with a Master’s in Landscape Architecture and has now been part of the Cube team for more than 5 years. A skilled CAD designer with extensive plant knowledge, Marta has honed her creative design abilities and now leads the design team; working alongside Sean to manage design projects and provide ongoing training and support to the design team. With a keen interest in landscape ecology and the protection of the natural and historical environment, Marta brings a modern approach to landscaping and encourages sustainable design.
Pawel Wocjik Designer Cube 1994
Pawel Wocjik
Garden Designer
Pawel has over 10 years of experience as a Landscape Architect across both the private and public sectors. He holds a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture and has developed strong skills in CAD design, planting, maintenance, client liaison, and collaboration with construction teams and local planning authorities. Pawel now works closely with our lead designers and project manager to deliver creative, high-quality design solutions that meet our clients’ expectations.
Helen Pritchard Garden Designer
Helen Pritchard
Garden Designer
Helen began her career in horticulture before advancing her design skills through an apprenticeship programme with Garden Designer Adam Frost, gaining qualifications in RHS Practical Horticulture and a City & Guilds Accredited Gardening Licence. Alongside her horticultural background, her keen interest in art and her Graphic Design degree further strengthen her ability to develop high-quality 3D visuals and technical drawings. Working part-time with our lead designers and project manager, Helen helps create thoughtful, high-quality design solutions that reflect our clients’ aspirations.
Max Kazanis Horticulturist Cube 1994
Max Kazanis
Horticulturist
Max holds a Diploma in Horticulture from Writtle College and has built his career working in high-end residential gardens, where he developed strong horticultural and garden-management skills. He successfully ran his own garden maintenance business whilst working with plant specialists Freear and Fitch, and has volunteered at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show honing his skills. Max' extensive plant knowledge is key to his new role where he will work closely with the design team and our clients to prepare planting plans, order, set out, plant and provide a maintenance programme.
