Our client acquired the raised land behind her garden and commissioned Cube to redesign the space as a second phase, complementing the garden we had completed two years earlier.
The brief was to create a modern-meets-traditional design, incorporating an entertaining and outdoor kitchen area around the new garden room, alongside a sunny bistro space for relaxation, with privacy from neighbouring properties. A stainless steel staircase and balustrade were installed to connect the two garden levels.
The layout is defined through contrasting materials and textures: porcelain paving anchors the entertaining and kitchen area, while composite decking and planting create separation for the relaxing zone. Stepping-stone paths in matching porcelain and gravel link the spaces.
Privacy is achieved with evergreen pleached trees and climbers, while grasses and shrubs provide year-round structure. Large planters were added to a gravel bed to maximise sunlight for growing herbs and vegetables.
This garden was featured in Modern Gardens Magazine, July 2024.
Choosing a landscaping company isn’t easy… I had a list of companies to meet. However, after the initial consultation with Sean Butler, I knew that Cube understood my requirements and were able to escalate them into my dream garden.
My garden is small, so attention to detail was crucial and this is where they excelled. Every aspect of the plot is wonderful and I haven’t shown it to anyone who hasn’t be ‘wowed’ by it. It really is something straight from a magazine!
The Team were an absolute delight and believe me, working in a tiny garden, without shade, in the hottest summer, would give anyone cause to be less than delightful ! They were punctual, courteous and always happy and smiling… tea helps !
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cube. Simply…if you want the best, you hire the best !
