We want you to know how much we appreciate your valuable contribution to our success in 2023. We take this opportunity to THANK YOU and wish you a great year ahead. This year we completed over 100 designs and 25 landscaping projects; including multiple outdoor kitchens, garden studios, bespoke pergolas, swim-spas and water-features. We continued to focus on investing in our people. Improving our training and development programmes, promoting good mental health and wellbeing practices, investing in new tools, technology and machinery with an aim to improve our services. Our landscaper Asher welcomed another baby to the team and we had a Cube wedding! Below are just some of our highlights:
The 2023 Wedding of the Year went to Ruby and James. In July, James joined the Butler family, marrying Sean and Jane’s daughter Ruby. The entire clan flew out to France for the big day and they all scrubbed up very well. James also became a part of the Cube Landscaping Team in September; joining Sean, Jane, Myles and Izaak Butler in making Cube a real family affair
In house, our senior designer Marta has continued to work on enhancing our 3D visual effects to provide beautiful, realistic images that simulate the finished garden. Staying up-to-date with the latest design trends and innovations in technology to create advanced landscape garden design drawings and video walk-throughs. The design team have also been working on refining our interior designs for garden studios including garden gyms, golf simulators, office spaces, photographers studios, media rooms and entertaining spaces. This is an exciting new addition to our services
Onsite we re-examined our training programme and created a plan to up-skill all of our trainees, landscapers, foremen and managers to help them work their way up the career ladder. Using external and in-house training we continue to promote and in-still professional development company wide. Foremen Sam, Taylor, Simon and Izaak have been working together to develop their training and management skills, and establish standard procedures to ensure high quality standards are met on all landscaping projects. The programme is proving successful in helping staff grow within the company and become a lasting part of it
Long term Investment in machinery and equipment has played a significant role in helping our business grow; Improving efficiency, lowering hire costs and increasing the teams output. This year we invested in a new avant multi-tool and tipper truck. We have also been looking at fuel alternatives to go greener, Sean continues to use the electric van for commuting and we are saying no to all artificial lawn requests with an aim to do our part for the environment
We welcomed Horticulturist Max to the team in Autumn. Max studied at Writtle College and has spent the last 4 years planting and maintaining high end residential gardens. Max is now working with the Cube design team to prepare planting plans, order, set out and plant all new schemes. He will also provide monthly aftercare and feeding programmes, mulching and seasonal bulb recommendations. Max brings with him a wealth of plant knowledge and will be keeping our gardens looking great in the long-term
Cube Fundraising this peaked this year, with Sean raising over £10,000 cycling, swimming and climbing Kilmanjaro for Children with Cancer UK. Sean also completed another Iron Man challenge, raising over £300 for Cancer Research UK. The Cube team raised over £100 for Men’s Health Charity Movember. Thank you to everyone that donated to our fundraisers. We have some exciting plans for next year too, promoting even more good causes whilst having some fun with the team
Next year we will be celebrating 30 years of Cube! Cube have been designing and building, commercial and residential landscape projects in Essex, Hertfordshire and London since 1994. Building 6 Award Winning RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gardens, 1 RHS Hampton Court Garden and 4 BALI Award Winning Gardens. Achieving 2 National ProLandscaper Business Awards for Best National Garden Design Practice and Landscape Company, and We Invest in People Gold Accreditation 2019-2022.
