Traditional gardens are characterised by classical features and timeless style.
The more formal designs feature symmetrical patterns, well manicured plants, topiaries, and fountains. In times past, gardens were used as a means to demonstrate wealth and power, and contained elaborate statues and eye catching centre pieces. Designs are often more functional now, and allow for more outdoor living conveniences in amongst the strong classical features.
A more informal traditional style would be an English country garden, with climbing roses, beautiful lawns, and mature plants providing clusters of colour. These type of gardens often encourage wildlife with bird tables and baths, and scented flowers to attract bees.
Planting choices are key in designing a traditional garden. At cube we work hard to choose the right plants for both the preferred style, and the ongoing maintenance preferences of the client. We want each garden to improve with age, and will plan carefully by considering how your garden will look in years to come.
