A landscape gardening team has been asked to build a flagship design for next year's Chelsea Flower Show after winning gold this week.

Cube Bespoke Landscapes, of Woodhill Road in Chelmsford, triumphed in the fresh garden category with their piece, 'The Nine Billion Conversation Garden'.

Five Cube employees built the 12m x 3m design within a £25,000 budget in eight days, and The Prince's Trust have asked them to come back next year.

"We didn't expect to win gold although you think you deserve it, it's not good to expect it because it can be a nasty surprise if you don't."

Sean Butler, Director, Cube1994

The garden was constructed of purely natural materials, including pools built by Robbie Cannon decorated purely with plants.

The Prince's Trust will team-up with Cube for next year to display a 10m x 10m creation in the main avenue.

Mr Butler is also looking to recruit a new and experienced landscape gardener, and urges those interested to call him on 01245 227148.
